» JACK MAYBURY COMING TO TAUPO JANUARY 24 The first radio entertainment to originate in Taupo will be staged in the War Memorial Hall on Monday evening, January 24, when Jack Maybury will present the well known ZB radio features "Number Please" and "Scoop The Pool." Both will be recorded for re-broadcasting over the ZB Stations later. There will be eight local contestants in "Number Please" and six in "Scoop The Pool." The entertainment was . originally intended to be given in support of the Sports Queen candidate, but Mr Maybury could not fit in a date before the closing of the Queen Carnival. All profits from the show will, however, go to the Sports Ground Development Fund. As there are only 260 of the new seats available in the Hall the public are advised to book early, as the show cannot be repeated. Booking arrangements are advettised ih this issue.
