A local petrol station hac} just closed one evening last week when a motorist, whose care-free garb indicated the happy holiday-mak^ er, entered and noted the position. "You've closed down for the day, I see," he remarked pleasantly. "Yes," replied the station manager, without hesitation, "but see- j ing that you're likely to be our Deputy Prime Minister for several years we'd better see what we can do for you!" The Rt. Hon. K. J. Holyoake showed some little surptise. His hand casually stroked his upper lip. "I didn't think I'd be recognised with this moustache," he remarked smilingly, adding that he was holidaying on a farm in the district. .
