EX-TAUPO BOY MAKES GOOD IN CRICKET

BARRY INKSTER IN MELBOURNE Barry Inkster, son of Mr and Mrs Gordon Inkster, who spent his primary school days in Taupo, left recently for Australia, where he is to play for Melbourne's famous Carlton Cricket Club. Aged 20, Barry has already made his mark in cricket in Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty, being prqbably I the best-known younger player in first-class matches in the Bay. He has been described as a fine allrounder, a competent bat and an extremely forceful fast bowler. He usually bats at "first drop" as the third batsman. Playing for Bay of Plenty against Northland last season he compiled an unbeaten 50.
