COUNCIL'S PLEA FOR £30,000 GRANT

Following the Borough Council's recent application to the National Roads Board, for a grant of £30,I 000 for roading purposes, a letter from the M.O.W. Resident Engineer, Rotorua, Mr J. A. Andrew, was before the Council's mid-month meeting. Mr Andrew wished to be supplied with a copy of the Council's last Statement of Accounts, together with the Council's Estimates for the year now current, and a copy of the resolution striking rates for 1954-55, to enable him to report on | the Council's application to the National Roads Board.
