COLOUR SCHEME FOR MEMORIAL HALL
PASTEL SHADED EXTERIOR The Borough Council at its last meeting adopted a proposal that the exterior of the War Memorial Hall should be painted in what were described as pastel shades. Two different schemes had been discussed by the Council, one proposed by the architects, in which the main colours were to be red and two shades of grey, and another favoured by several councillors. The latter was the scheme ftnaily adopted, the colours being primrose, white and two shadfcs of grey. Cr J. D. Swan, who was in favour of the architects' colour scheme asked that his vote be reeorded against the scheme chosen. Cr K. O. Lewis remarked, "1'm neither for nor against, as long as its finished soon." Cr Vedder: 'Tm with you there."
