ROTORUA MARCHING CHAMPIONSHIPS

TAUPO CRUSADERS COMPETE Although' the Crusaders, the Taupo marching girls team, did not achieve any wins in the Rotorua Marching Championships held at Kuirau Park, Rotorua, on Saturday, November 20, they marched well and received encouraging comments. The Street March was won by Opotiki Caledonians, with Rotorua Royalettes second. The Open Championship was won by the Caledonians, with Huntly Wrenettes second. The Open Leader Championship was won by H. Raymond, Hauraki (Mt. Maunganui), yuth M. Pascoe, Wrenettes (Huntly) second. The Costume Judging was v/on by Glenettes (Huntly), with Royalettes (Rotorua) second. Several of the competing teams are expected to visit Taupo for the Marching Girls display on Saturday, December 11, when the Rotorua Municipal Band and the Rotorua Highland Band will be present.
