TAUPO WOMEN'S BOWLING CLUB OPENING
The Taupo Women's Bowling Club opened its season on Thursday, October 28. The Mayoress, Mrs J. E. Story, the Club's patron, threw up the first jack, and Mrs Wheeler, of Hamilton, president of the Centre, delivered the first bowl. Visitors were present from the Rotorua and Arawa Clubs, of Rotorua, and from the Mangakino Club. The rink with the highest aggregate score consisted of Mrs J. McBeth, Taupo (lead), Mrs Jones Mangakino, IV^rs Bland, Rotorua, and Mrs H. J. Peacocke, Taupo (skip). Each member of the team received a trophy, these being pro^ vided from a donation kindly made to the Club by Mr A. M. Smith. On Thursday, November 4, a team consisting of Mrs McMillan, Mrs Harlan, Mrs W. G. Morris and Mrs Peacocke, visited Putaruru for the opening of the Putaruru Women's Club's season. Similar visits were earlier made by Taupo teams to the Rotorua and Arawa Clubs greens, Rotorua, on their respective opening days.
