SPORTS QUEEN NOTES

Wheelbarrow Derby. The major race of the year, the Wheelbarrow Derby, which was postponed last week, is to be run tonight, Friday, at 7.15 p.m. and all interested in this classic event should be in the vicinity of the War Memorial Hall, Tongariro Street, in good time. It is..reported that many candidates appear to be "wheelbarrow happy" and that much training has been done. ❖ * x Prize Night. After the Wheelbarrow Derby the Sports Queen Committee will give away prizes to all who are lucky enough to be on the spot at the right time. A great devotee of the "Great Book" will be on hand near the Sports Queen truck to assist all present in their interpretations of the "Book." >i« * ❖ Donations. All supporters of the Sports Queen are urged to send their donations to "The Sports Queen," c/o Miss B. Walters, The School, Taupo. Miss Walters is secretary of the Sports Queen Committee.
