STREET LEVELLING IN BUSINESS AREA

TOP SOIL TO BE USED FOR SPORT GROUND JOB The Borough Council has recently had levelling work done in Heuheu and Tuwharetoa Streets, between Tongariro and Ruapehu Streets, to bring the footpath areas down to their required levels. The job has been done with earth-mov-ing machinery, and on Saturday last similar work was in progress on the street frontages of the War Memorial Hall. The heaped-up top-soil will be removed to the sports ground area from those portions of the streets mentioned where there are business premises. The remainder will not be removed until actually required for the new sports oval. /
