GOLF CLUB NOTES
Very good scores were carde'd in the Men's Stableford Bogey match played on Saturday, September 11, D. Neame scoring 36 points, D. Woodward and D. F. Stretton 35 points. In the Ladies' senior and junior Stableford bogey, played on Thursday, Mrs Colbeck and Mrs Irvine scored 32 points, and Mrs Hullten and Mrs Graham 31. The Latfies' captain's Trophy match has reached the final, Mrs Irvine having defeated Mrs Mclsaac, and Mrs Logan having defeated Mrs Colbeck. Smith Shield The Taupo team visited the Tokoroa Club on Sunday, September 12, to play the second Smith Shield match. When the first match was played in Taupo in June, Taupo gainea a lead of 9 points, the score being Taupo 22, Tokoroa 13. On Sunday the Taupo team scored only 7 points and Tokoroa won the Shield 37; to 29. The Taupo team consisted of A. Grahan, G. Barlow, D. Neame, E. Smith, L. Cheal, K. Young, K. Luke, A. M. Smith, P. Brown, S, Neame, L. Pearse, E. Ryan with J. Woodward as emergency. Lady players were Miss Branson, Mrs Colbeck, Mrs Hullten, Mrs Douglas, Miss McKelvie, Mrs Watson, with Mrs Graham as emergency. * For Taupo Graham and Barlow defeated Whineray and Cameron in the fourball; Young halved with Storer in the singles; A. Smith and Luke defeated Budge and Kobald in the fourball; A. Smith defeated Kobald in the singles. Pearse and Ryan halved the fourball with Bullot and Dickenson. Miss Branson and Mrs Colbeck defeated Mrs Boone and Mrs Smith in the fourball; Miss Branson defeated Mrs Boone in the single and Mrs Colbeck halved the single with Mrs Smith. On Sunday, September 18, the , men will play the fourth round of the President's Trophy.
