GARDENING CIRCLE

The September meeting of the Gardening Circle of the Taupo Countrywomen's Institute was held at Mrs G. Davis' home, Kaimanawa Road, when another new member was welcomed. After a discussion on garden pests and how to combat them, a talk on "Ming" tree growing, as practised by the Chinese for hundreds of years, was given by Miss McClymont. Mrs Arnold had on display a floral novelty made in Auckland by a professional florist. The competition, for a sand posy in a saucer, was won by Mrs Murphy.
