Badeley, 94D Several people who should know better, have said to me "The Land Agents are making the prices of sections in Taupo too high." Let's work it out You come to me, and say you want to sell a section, and what is it worth on the market. I say, well on the basls of the sale of such v and such a section yours being better is worth so much; or alternatively, not being as good, is worth so much, in my opinion. Now, if I have a cobber waiting to buy on the cheap, and you don't know section values, I can knock £100 off the reasonable market value and advise you accordingly. I would not stay. in business for long. On the other hand, if I take notice of these people who blame Agents for increasing prices, and when you ask me what your section is worth, I say to myself prices are getting out of hand, therefore Fll knock £50 off the figure I think is fair value. Well, I'll soon be looking for a job. It's safe to say that you approach any Taupo Land Agent and you'll get a fair appraisal of your property value. Another thing, too Land Agents are regarded as nothing but parasites! I beg to differ. An active Land Agent in a town plays a very active part in that Town's development, and working in conjunction with Local Bodies, Surveyors and Financial Institutions, plays an important and worthwhile role in the Community. You can be sure that an established . Land Agent has pretty sound ideas and knowledge of many aspects of commercial and municipal affairs. If he has not, he probably wouldn't become established.
