ROTORUA REP. TEAM DEFEATS TAUPO 24—17 In a high scoring match, played at Taupo on Saturday last, a Rotorua Third Grade representative team defeated the Taupo Third ; Grade team by 24 points (4 tries, 3 conversions and 2 penalty goals) to 17 (3 tries, 1 conversion and 2 penalties ) . Rotorua attacked from the kickoff and irom a back line movement | near Taupo's goal-line Martin scored flfteen yards out. Hight converted, 5 — 0. Taupo pushed hard for the next ten minutes and from a penalty Turetahi goaled, 5—3. Shortly after, Turetahi scored well out to make the score 5 — 6 in Taupo's favour. Seven minutes later Turetahi goaled from a penalty, 5—9. |

Cummins scored, but Hight failed with the kick for the only time in the game, making Rotorua 13, Taupo 17.

From a penalty Hight goaled to bring the scores almost level with j Rotorua 16 and Taupo still 17. j With ten minutes to go Rotorua threw the ball about for Brown to ! score, Hight converting and Rotorua leading 21—17. Shortly after Hight goaled from a penalty to make the final figures 24 — 17. For Rotorua Martin, Hight, Brown and Cummins played well. In the Taupo line-up Wineera, Turetahi and Drummond showed up. Mr K .Rameka was the referee.
