PUBLIC OPINION
BOROUGH COUNCIL AND LOCAL MANUFACTURES Sir, — It has been noted by residents that deliveries of concrete posts here have been made to Domain properties under the jurisdiction of the Borough Council. Lhese posts were delivered by a j Northern firm of carriers and were not manufactured in Taupo.
Enquiries made from the local manufacturer of concrete posts resulted in the statement that neither the Borough Council nor the Domain Board, had called tenders I foi these posts nor had they con- j tacted this manufacturer for the supply or tendering for same. If these local bodies are genuine or sincere in their promises to assist Taupo to prosper it seems that some explanation is due to the citizens as to why it seems delib- 1 erate that local manufacturers r are not supported by them.
