"TRUCKS THAT PARK IN THE NIGHT"

- X It was reported at the Taupo Borough Council meeting on Wednesday, June 2, that heavy motor vehicles were being parked at night in Rifle Range Road. Parking lights were not shown, and it was pointed out that the road was closed to heavy trafflc from; May to October. Complaints had been made by neighbourhood residents of noise made in the early hours of the morning. The vehicles were articulated refrigerated trucks running between Auckland, Napier and Wellington, and were said to arrive late at night and leave early in the mornings. The loaded weight of the vehicles was over twenty tons and up to three had been parked at a time.The Town Clerk was instructed to write to the firm owning the trucks*
