GOLF CLUB NOTES
On Thursday, May 6, at the Taupo Golf Club's Links, the ladies' competed in the Coronation Medal and Aotearoa Cup, which matches were played by all clubs throughout New Zealand during the week. Best score by a club member was that. of Mrs Douglas, 87-19-68. This score reduces Mrs Douglas to a 17 handicap. Miss McKelvie was next with 92-19-73, and Mrs Hullten 3rd with 90-12-78. Mrs Colbeck and Miss Branson played in the N.Z. Autumn Foursomes at Matamata during the week. They were defeated in the second round of the Foursomes Cup, and then played in the Flight Match, but were defeated in the second round.
On Saturday, May 8, the men played a senior and junior Bogey Match, with the following results: Barlow and Stretton 4 up; Brown and D. J. Woodward 3 up; Graham and Bjoingard 1 up; Young and Colqmb 1 down; E. Smith and Irving 2 down. The Qualifying round of the Ladies' Captain's Trophy will be played on Thursday, May 20, and on Saturday, May 22, the men will play a sealed Medal round.
