Friends of Mr W. K. Francis, of Oruanui Street, Taupo, will be pleased to learn that he has returned home after a period spent in hospital in Auckland, and is now much improved in health. * $ $ Mr C. J. Vedder had the misfortune to injure his left thumb, and X-ray examination in Rotorua Hospital later revealed a compound fracture. The bones have been set, but it will be several weeks before Mr Vedder will be able to resume work.
