SCHOOL v. CLUB
Batting first on February 21st in the match between the School and the Cricket Club the Taupo Club could only total 116 runs against the spin bowling of Sutherland supported by some fast bowling from Curham and fairly steady bowling by Clark and Perceval. Brian Sherwood and Sam McKean were the only batsmen to score freely with impunity and both reached the thirties with some neat stroke play. Sutherland opened brightly for the school but in Woodward's first over he fell to his favourite stroke when Mclsaac caught him on the square leg boundary. Of the remainder, the only scores were registered by K. Bogue with a four. a
six and a single and B. Watson who scored a confident 9 without showing signs of any parental fear. The school was dismissed for 43 and following on lost seven second innings wickets for 19. In this innings Alan Reading and C. Wood both hit fours whilst Pat Dixon was not out at the close with three to his ' credit. TAUPO C. C. — First Innings
