TENNIS NOTES
MOKAI v. TAUPO The largest attendance seen this season on the Taupo Tennis Club's courts was drawn on Sunday, February 7th by the visit of eight members of the Mokai Tennis Club, to play in a friendly tournament with Taupo. Unfortunately the Mokai team were delayed en route and no singles play was possible. Some very good tennis was seen and the visit has stimulated local interest in the game. The Taupo Club is lacking in women players and more would be welcomed at the courts. Results of the matches were as follows, Taupo names being given first in all cases. Men's Doubles: — G. Pearse and W. Rickit v. W. Hapi and M. Paerata 4 — 6; D. Baker and P. Toe v. T. Kapua and A. Osborne 6 — 1; J. McLeod and M. Lowey v. D. Holmes and P. Simon 2 — 6; B. Cosgrove and C. Sealy v. T. Kapua and A. Osborne 2 — 6. Final, D. Baker and P. Toe v. W. Hapi and M. Paerata 3 — 6. Ladies' Doubles: — Mrs P. Simon and Miss Maniapoto v. Miss Te Hiko and Mrs Hapi 1 — 6; Mrs Rewa and Miss M. Rickit v. Miss D. Martin and A. Paerata 3 — 6. Mixed Doubles: — Miss Maniapoto and G. Pearse v. Mrs Hapi and M. Paerata 6 — 3; Mrs Simon and D. Baker v. Miss A. Paerata and T. Kapua 6 — 0; Miss M.
