ROYAL VISIT ARRANGEMENTS Visitors to Rotorua for the Royal Visit will hnd traffic control and parking arrangements of some importanee. Those attending the Civic Reception should note that the only entrance to the Gardens for cars will be by the Princes Gate. Cars of the general public will be admitted until 9.30 a.m. only, and a special parking area is reserved for these. Invited guests desiring to go in their cars must enter the grounds between 9.30 and 10.30 a.m, and a special parking area is reserved. The only access to the Gardens for those on' foot is by the pedestrian access-way adjacent to the new Nurse's Home at the eastern end of Whakaue Street. General 9 traffic arrangements are as follows: On New Year's Day, when the Royal party will reach Rotorua from Tirau via Mamaku and Ngongotaha, no parking will be ailowed between Ngongataha and Rotorua from 8 a.m. and the road will be closed to all traffic from 3.45 p.m. until 30 minutes after the Queen has passed. In the borough, parking is prohibited in Lake Road from Ranolf Street to Tutanekai Street; Tutanekai Street from Lake Road to Arawa Street; Arawa Street from Tutanekai Street to Fenton Street; Fenton Street from Arawa Street to will be open for the passage of vewill be ope nfor the passage of vehicles until 3.45 p.m., after which they will be closed completely to all vehicular traffic until 30 minutes after the Queen has passed.

On Reception Day On January 2, parking restrictions are more severe. All routes to be taken by the Queen outside the borough will be closed to vehicular traffic and cleared of parked vehicles one hour before Her Majesty is due to pass. The main Whakatane highway from Moose Lodge to the intersection of Wairoa Road and Marguerita Street will be closed from 10.30 a.m. and reopened just after noon until 3 p.m. It will be reopened again after the Queen has passed on her way back to Moose Lodge, at approximately 4.15 p.m. in the borough no parking will be permitted on any street or part of it which will be traversed by Her Majesty during the day from 8 a.m. until 30 minutes after she has passed. These streets will be closed absolutely to vehicular traffic one hour before she is due to pass. In this category will come Fenton Street, Tutanekai Street, and the route taken to the High School along Amohau and Pereika Streets. Parking Places Provision has been made for parking in the Kuirau Reserve, orl the lakefront, and probably at the aerodrome. The side streets between Ranolf and Lytton Streets may be used for parking, similarly, the bloek between Victorie Street and Malfroy Road, and including Victoria Street. In the business area early-com-ers may use streets west, of Tutanekai Street up to and including Arawa Street West. Except for Eruera and Haupapa Streets there will be no parking on the eastern side of streets from Tutanekai Street. Amohia, Rangiuru and Pukaki may also &e used.
