CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR PLAY

TAUPO DRAMATIC SOCIETY'S HOLIDAY ATTRACTION The Taupo Dramatic Society is presenting as a holiday attraction on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 29th and 30th, and on Monday and Tuesday, January 4th and 5th, John Dighton's "The Happiest I Days- of Your Life." The play is being produced by Mr Arnold Goodwin, of Auckland. Dighton wrote his comedy for laughs. He created lines in situations which are bound to rouse the most sober person to mirth. First | produced at the Apollo Theatre, London, in 1948, the play was acj claimed the funniest comedy to appear on the London stage in 20 years. The action of the play takes place during the 1939-45 War, when the various schools had to be evacuated owing to bombing raids. The position may be imagined when the Ministry of Evacuation, - bogged down in red tape, blunders, and St. Swithin's, an academy for girls, is biiletted on Hilary Hall, a school for boys. The play is twice as funny as the film of the same name. Taupo residents are advised to book early, before the Christmas visitors arrive, when there is sure to be a rush. Booking opens at the Taupo Book Club, Ruapehu Street, opposite the school, on Monday next, December 21st. For further particulars seen advertisement in this paper.
