BOWLING CLUB NOTES
COMPETITION ENTRIES DUE Members of the Taupo Bowling Club are reminded that entries for all club competitions close on Sunday next with the Secretary at the green. About twenty new players have joined the ciub this season, and several of these already show promise as bowlers. The competition for the Stephenson Golden Cockerells, a handicap, commenced last week-end, when results were as follows: McDonald, T. Murphy, W. G. Morris, R. McMillan (skip), 18, defeated McNicholas, R. Sinclair, A. R. McLean, T. Baldwin (skip), 17; Atwood, E. Darlington, S. Howie, E. T. Smith (skip), 36, defeated G. M. Crickett, P. Quinn, R. Bourne, H. Feacock (skip), 18; J. Peart, M.
Gunn, J. Wells, C. McLean (skip), 21, defeated B. Harnett, A. Collins, F. Mahanga, J. Rowlands (skip), 21; Geo. Hill, McBeth, J. H. Marlow, T. Taylor (skip), 16, were defeated by A. Coley, W. Strong, F. Logan, J. Pennycock (skip), 22. The holders of the Clayworth Challenge Buttons, C. McLean and J. Atwood, were defeated by E. T. Smith and F. Mahanga, after an exciting game which ended 8 — 6.
