GARDEN PARTY FOR GIRL GUIDE FUNDS

"THE FUN OF THE FAIR" A Continental Garden Party is to be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday next 19th, at Mr and Mrs Peart's residence, Taupo View Road. It will be in aid of funds being raised to cover expenses of the trip to Rotorua, for the Royal Visit, of the Girl Guides and Brownies. All the fun of the fair will be provided, while the highlight will be the serving of afternoon tea by the Guides in fancy costume. Another feature will be a baby show, in age groups from 1 month to 6 months, 6 months to 12 months, and 12 months to two years. Entries may be made at the garden party, or may be made with Mrs Peart or Mrs Snooks beforehand. Prizes will be awarded to every entrant. These will be on a gift tree and each child may help itself. There will be a bran tub, and stalls for sale of cakes, sweets and goods of all descriptions.
