GOLF NOTES
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS The Taupo Golf Club's Senior and Junior Championship finals were played off on Sunday last. In the former, K. E. Young defeated L. Cheal. Young was dormy one at the 35th, and at the 36th sank a fourteen foot putt to halve, thus winning one up. The Junior event was won by E. Ryan, who defeated L. E. Pearse ten and nine. In the Ladies' Winter Cup *competition there was a tie between Mrs Colbeck and Mrs Douglas, and a play off resulted in Mrs Colbeck winning five and three. In the final of the Patron's Trophy Mrs Colbeck and Mr L. Stephenson defeated Mrs Logan and Mr Sherning three and two. The closing day for the season will be on Sunday next, when a mixed fourball will be played.
