TOM COUPER'S BUS SERVICE SOLD

TO H.B. MOTOR CO. LTD. Mr Tom Couper's well-known bus service between Taupo and Putaruru has been sold to the Hawke's Bay Motor Co. Ltd. The change took effect op October 31st, which marked the end of twenty-one years during which Mr Couper had been connected with the business. Mr Couper bought the business from Mr W. J. Stevens, who had taken it over from the Hawke's Bay Motor Co. Ltd., whose service had originally extended as far as Hamilton. During his years on the road Mr Couper's care and consideration for his passengers, and the residents he served along the route won him many friends. During the twenty-one years of his connection with the business he was absent from it only when on service during the Second World War. Mr Couper will continue to reside in Taupo.
