STAGE CRAFT LECTURES
The Committee of the Taupo Dramatic Society have arranged through the British Drama Council for Mrs Freda Wilson, of Waipawa, to visit Taupo at the week-end commencing Friday, October ,16th. Mrs Wilson is a well -known producer in Hawke's Bay and has jusi finished a production for the Waipawa Dramatic Society. The following is a tentative syllabus:— Friday, October 16th, 8 p.m., in the Taupo School, Lecture on Production Methods, and pick a cast for one or two one-act plays; Saturday, 17th, Rickit's Hall, starting 9.30 a.m., the chosen cast rehearsed (morning and afternoon) ; Saturday 8 p.m., Rickit's Hall, talk on Make-up, Stage-craft, etc. On Wednesday, October 14th, the Society's fortnightly play-reading in Rickit's Hall v/ill feature "Fluffy," by Neil Grant, and "The Boy Comes Home" by A. A. Milne. The week-end lectures and playreading are all free to members. The circular sent to all members to ascertain how many desired to take an active part in acting, playreading, etc., has up to the time of going to press elicited very few re~ plies. The Committee reminds members that subscriptions for 1953-54 are due and should be paid to the secretary, Mr Arthur Kennedy. ,
