Two Ambulance Calls. The St. John Ambulance had two calls during the week, on both occasions taking patients to Rotorua Hospital. Mr L. Sharp drove, the nurse attendans being Mrs A. Kennedy and Mrs J. Booth. Tauhara Township. v A considerable amount of activity has been evidenced at Tauhara Township since the auction sale last summer of Crown owned sections in the subdivision, which fronts . onto the Taupo-Turangi highway on the Taupo or northern side of Four Mile Bay. Some eight houses have either been built or are in course of erection there, while a number of further sections are in process of being cleared. Electric Power Reticulation. The Town Board's Electrical Inspector, Mr J. M. Sherwood, reported to the monthly meeting of the Board on September 16th, that thirty-six more consumers had been connected during the month, bringing the total number to 369. Low tension lines had been erected in Duncan and Pihanga Streets, and high tension lines in Rifle Range Road, Pihanga and Karamu Streets. Low tension lines were in course of erection in Rifle Range Road, and in Rotokawa, Matipo, Karamu and Rangatira Streets. Service lines had been run in Scannell, Duncan, Tonga and Pihanga Streets. Town Library. Mr N. Duthie, Secretary of the Town Library Gommittee, reports that the decision to open the Library on Saturdays appears to have met a definite want, as a considerable number of subscribers have already taken advantage of the opportunity to obtain books on this day. Town Board PlaftL The Borough Foreman reported to the Town Board meeting last week on the matter of accommodation required to house the Board's increasing plant. This included already a tractor, grader, motor mower, field mower, giant discs, concrete mixer and sundry tools, to which a truck would shortly be added. Space Was required for concrete moulds for making pipes. The Board referred the matter to the Works Gommittee to report on to the next meeting. Taupo Harbour Light. Three piles were recently driven by the Ministry of Works close to the white buoy which in recent years has been moored some distance off-shore in the vicinity of the entrance to the Waikato Outlet, the harbour at Taupo. The buoy has marked a sunken rock which is dangerous to boats at low Lake levels. A light to be erected on the piles, which will replace the buoy, will materially assist boats entering the harbour at night.
