Delay in A.C. Bath Job.

The following telegram was sent recently by the Town Clerk on behalf of the Town Board, to Mr P. Kearins, M.P., with regard to the A.C. Baths reconstruction job: — "Kindly urge Minister of Lands to expediate reconstruction of Taupo A.C. Baths. Hamilton Ministry of Works definitely delaying commencement of work which was promised to be started six weeks ago. £5000 cash for work has long been deposited with the Department but yet nothing done. Board very aggrieved at continual delay now urgently seeks your assistance to urge ministerial instructions to have the work put in hand." The Town Clerk reported that a similar telegram had been sent by Miss A. Wehringo and Mr G. S. Currie, on behalf of the Ratepayers' and Businessmen's Associations respectively, expressing alarm at the prolonged delay by the Works Department and asking for Mr Kearin's help in the matter, stressing its urgency in view of the approach of the season.
