NEW POWER TARIFF

COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL RATES The revised schedule of nett monthly charges for electric power supply approved by the Town Board at the monthly meeting on September 16th provides for commercial and industrial power eonsumption at the following rates. The new tariff is to come into force when the main generator, now being installed at the Power Station comes into operation. Commercial Lighting, Rate B. — A standing charge of 7/6 per month, plus a charge for actual power used (Energy Charge) of 4d. per kWH (kilo-watt hour, or unit). Commercial Heating and Cooking, Rate C: — A standing charge of 7/6 per month, plus Energy Charge of 4d. per kWH (unit) up to 60kWH and ljd. per kWH (unit) over 60kWH. Combined Shops and Residences: — To be separately metered under Domestic Tariff for domestic section and Commercial Tariff for the shop, subject to the following proviso. At the Board's option the supply will be metered separately as just stated, or through one meter at the Domestic Rate, provided that 2 units per month will be transferred to and be added to the high rate units ( at 4d.) in respect of each 100 watts of total loading in the shop. An equivalent number will be deducted from the number at the low rate (at lid.). Motors up to 2 h.p. may be included in the loading. Industrial Motive Power, Rate Dl: — Up to 25 b.h.p. of total installed capacity, a standing charge of 2/6 per b.h.p. or fraction thereof per month, plus Energy Charge of 3d. per unlt. Rate D2: — Over 25 b.h.p. of totalled installed capacity a standing charge of 2/6 per fl.P. per month, plus Energy Charge of ld. per kWH, plus Maximum Demand Charge of 10/- per kWH of 15 minute maximum demand. Under Rate D2 Power Factor to be maintained at over 95 per cent. Commercial Electric Water Heating, Rate El: — Installations which comply with the conditions set out under Rate El (see elsewhere in thls issue under heading of "Domestic Water Heating") will be supplied at Rate El, i.e., a demand charge of 2/- per 100 watts of normal element rating, plus Energy Charge of .3d. (three-tenths of a penny) per kWH (unit). All other commercial water heating installations will be supplied at Rate C, i.e., a standing charge of 7/6 per month, plus Energy Charge of 4d. per kWH up to 60kWH and of lid. per kWH over 60kWH. Combined Rate, F: — Available' to all such consumers who, in the opinlon of the Board's Engirieer, will use at least 66 per cent. of their monthly eonsumption* for other than lighting for all forms of power usage including motive power up to 25 H.P., a standing charge of 30/-, plus Maximum Demand Charge of 3/- per ampere at 230 volts, plus Energy Charge at ld. per unit. For the purpose of this rate, demands will be recorded by thermal demand indicators or other instrument approved by the Board. Night users' Rate, Rate G: — For bakers' ovens and the like, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6.30 a.m., ld. per unit. Community Lighting, Rate H: — For installations made to the approval of the Board, where consumers' Association erects and maintains flttings and wiring, and the Board feeds and meters at one point per .street block, 2/- per 100 I watt point, plus ld. per unit.
