Borough Roll Closing. The Supplementary Roll of Electors for the Town District, as advertised in this issue of the Times, will close on October 2nd. Enrolment forms may be obtained at the Town Board Office. Auction Sale Tomorrow. Weather concTitions last Saturday could hardiy have been worse at the time scheduied for Mr J. E. Skeen's auction sale at his premises next the Majestic Theatre. The sale was postponed and is now advertised to take place tomorrow, Saturday 19th, commencing at 1 p.m. Bowling Club Activities. Members of the Taupo Bowling Club have formed working bees to carry but various jobs during the past three week-ends. The green has been sprayed with manures, and on one day twelve members spent both morning and afternoon . top-dressing the green with soil. ^ Last Sunday a general tidying up of the grounds was done. Mr B. M. Armstrong, president, will be glad if members willing to assist in the work still to be done will ring and advise him'that they can attend I at 9.30 a.m. on Sundays.
Play Reading, The fortnightly play reading of the Taupo Dramatic Society was held in Rickit's Hall following the ll Society's annual meeting last week. Dulcie Cohen and Saily Kent gave a second reading, by request, of j Noel Coward's "Cat's Cradle," making the most of this comical chronicle of the love-life of two ^uburban cats, the climax of which demonstrates that love will find a way. Gertrude Jenning's farce aThe Bathroom Door" was read by Avis Acres, Sally Kent, Lois Denize, Bob Acres, John Kellett and Charles Leslie, each of whom earned a due share of the audience's appre- _ ciation.
