WESTMINSTER ABBEY
APPEAL CLOSES AUGUST 31 Further examinations are reported to have shown that Westminter Abbey needs more extensive repairs than at one time were thought neeessary. The work will be a first charge on the restoration fund for which Sir Winston Churchill launched an appeal last January. The Taupo Town Board's subscription list is to close at the end of this month. The list as at August 21 was as follows: —
