TAUPO ROWING CLUB

FIRST ANNUAL MEETING The first annual general- meeting of the Taupo Rowing Club was held on Thursday evening of last week at the residence of Mr Gordon Fraser, when there were present: Mr Gordon Fraser (in the chair), Messrs R. Sinelair, R. Tremaine, J. Donnelly, S. Columb, E. Arnold, N. Whiu, P. Croft, D. E. Fraser, J. Arnold, J. McDonald. G. Whiu. A good start was made on the preliminary groundwork necessary to put the club on a sound footing. The matters of a site for a club-house and the raising of funds were discussed, and indications are that several skiffs will be in the water this season. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs T. j Gillies who has stored the club's first boat since its arrival in Taupo. The election of officers and committee members resulted as follows : Mr Gordon Fraser, President; Messrs R. Sinelair and R. Tremain, Vicepresidents ; Mr J. Donnelly, Secretary ; Mr S. Columb, Treasurer; Mr E. Arnold, Club Captain; Mr D. Hensby, Deputy Captain; Committee members, Messrs N. Whiu, P. Croft, D. E. Fraser, J. Arnold, J. McDonald, G. Whiu. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr Fraser for the use of his home for the meeting.
