SCHOOLS TRIALS

FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL Taupo will be the venue for schools football and basketball trials tomorrow, Thursday, when Primary School players from all parts of the Taupo district will be given an opportunity to show their abilities. After these games representative teams at both games will be selected to play against the Rotorua Primary School representatives at Rotorua on August ! 8. For the footballers there will be the further objective of gaining selection in the team to travel to Hastings to play for the Ross Shield from August 24 to 28. At the time of going to press the basketball fixtures for Thursday's play were not available, but the footbali fixtures were: 12 noon, Northern Districts v. Taupo B; 12.35 p.m., Tauranga-Taupo v. Taupo A; 1.10 p.m., Northern Districts v. Waitahanui; 1.45 p.m., Combined Possibles v. Taupo Probables.
