DRAMATIC SOCIETY

COMI'NG EVENTS Rehearsals have no wbeen in full swing for some weeks for the next public production of the Taupo Dramatic Society which will eomprise a programme of three one-act plays. These will be presented at Riekit's Hall on August 13 and 14. The first production, "Dark Brown," is set in the back rooms of a tobacconists shop one summer evening. It is written by Philip Johnson whose oneact plays have been some of the most popular in the Dramatic Society readings this year. One of J. M. Barrie's most popular plays, "The Old Lady Shows Her Medals,'1 which takes place during the period of the First World War is the second production. The third will be a comedy of Bath in the early nineteenth century, "Little Glass Houses," in which Philip Johnson and Howard Agg collaborate.
