GIRL GUIDE NOTES
Mrs C. Snooks, who took over the captaincy of the Taupo Girl Guides Company at the suggestion of Mrs H. Peart, on the latter being* appointed District Commissioner for Rotorua-Taupo District, was recently awarded her captain's warrant. Mrs Snooks joined the Company when it was three months old, and was Warranted Lieutenant for nine months. She then sat for her captain's warrant, with the successful result aiready mentioned. Royal Yisit Arrangements Mrs H. Peart, District Commissioner, last week met all District Committees at Rotorua, when the matter of the part to be taken by the Guides and Brownies of the Rotorua-Taupo district, in the arrangements for the Royal Visit, was the most important subject dealt with. Mrs Peart attended a Provincial Court of Honour at Hamilton on Wednesday last, when all District Commissioners in the Waikato Province were present. The Royal Visit was again an important item on the agenda. It was decided that Mrs Peart, as Rotorua-Taupo District Commissioner, should get in touch with the Mayor of Rotorua, Mr • Moncur, and if possible make arrangements to have space allotted for Guides and Brownies on the occasion of Her Majesty's visit to Rotorua. Mrs Peart has aiready eommunicated with Mr Moncur and is now awaiting a reply from him.
