MR SAMPSON TAYLOR
Mr Sampson Taylor, brother of Mr J. T. Taylor, of Nukuhau, Taupo, died suddenly at his brother's residence on Sunday, July 5th., He was aged 72. Born at Taradale, Hawkes Ray, Mr Taylor spcnt his boyhood in that district, later going to Foxton, where he engaged in the flax-milling industry. Later he moved to Tauranga and took up farming with a brother for some time. Moving later to the Waikato, he joined the staff of the Waikato County Council and remained In the CouhciPs service for twentyJfive years, being outside foreman. On his (retirement some six or s.even years ago Mr Taylor, who was unmarried, took up residence with Mr and Mrs J. T. Taylor, at Nukuhau. In recent years he was a well-known figuireT to the many mkembers of the boating fraternity at Taupo, by whom he wili be mrich missed. The funeral took place from St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Taupo, the pall-bearers being members of th.e Taupo Commercial Launch Owners' Association, of which Mir J. T. Taylor was chairman for many years; Messages of sympathy have come from many parts of the North Island from boating and fishing people who regularly visit Taupo.
