* TOKAANU DEFEAT HIGH SCHOOL An overcast day heralded the first visit of the newly formed Tokaanu team to Taupo last Wednesday, but I did nothing to mar enthusiasm among I the players. Tokaanu showed good technique and won their games against High School 17-1F. T. Elkington as defence for the visitors played an outstanding game, interesting High School repeatedly. In the forwards | B. Ta Maira proved equally as good and was responsible for a good deal of the scoring. High SchooFs game is improving with D. Hani as an aggressive defence, S. George with her quick footwork, and M. Ngamotu in her goaling. Miss B. Walters was the referee. The second game between Huka and Crusaders was very disappointing owing to the absence of half C usa:lers' team. High School players substituted for the absentees. D. Balmforth with her interceptions and J. Galbraith, a newcomer to the game, played well for Crusaders. R. Jenkins was a faultless g-oaler, and with N. Chase as an outstanding defence helped Huka to win their game 11-5. Referee, Miss T. Ellington. Miss K. Lewis has very kindly donated a Cup for competition among ihe local teams and this will be awarded to the team gaining the most points in a special tournament commencing on July 25th. The draw for next Saturday is High School v. Huka, 1.30 p.m.. Huka v. Crusaders, 2.30 p.m. t
