WEEK-END STORM
Heavy rain in Taupo last week-end caused wide spread damage to roads, while during thunderstorms about noon on 'Sunday the power lines were struck & power off for ari hour. At Mr C. B. Dents resldence a power point was blown out of the wai! and a light foulb exploded violently, but no one was injured. Many tefephones were put out of action. Mr Tony Tierney had a spade thrown out of his hand. | Between 9 a.m. and. 1 p.rn. Sunday 1.96 inches of rain was recorded, The tatai fall from, 9 a.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Monday was 3.9 inches. The Lake level guage at midday Monday 1176.9 feet. Maximum comtiroi level is 1177.
