Cemmis&ioii Sits At Taupo The position of the Taupo Town Board, for the granting to the Town Bistrict of Borough. status was heard by the Local Government Commission at the Court House, Taupo, on Monday, May 25th. The members of the Commission were Jiidge Archer, Chairman, and Messrs J. W. Andrews, W. C. E. George and G. A. Monk. Mr J. E. Storv, Town Board Chairmany, presented the case for the petition, and evidence in support Aras given by Mr S. Torepe, Town Clerk, Mr Lloyd Mandeno, Consulting Engineer1, and Mr Gabites, Town Planhing Gonsultant. There were no objections to the petition. As usual in such applications, the Commission reserved their judgement. In the afternoon the chairman and members of the Commission rnade a tour of inspection of the town.
