Further information was being sought regarding th,e establishment of a 24-'hour telephone service in Taupo, as it was felt that with the growth oi the town such a service was now essential. The Association was still pursuing the uecessary channels to insist that a Tourist Department Agency be set up in Taupo. A further letter was being sent to ihe Hon. V\ . A. Bodkin stressing the necessity of such an Agency, and stating that the Ratepayer's Association, together with other lo-cal organisations eoncerned, was willing to meet the Minister to discuss the matter fully.

Town Electricity Supply. Great dissatisfaction is abroad (the report continues) concerning the reticulation of power and the apparent unfairness in which connections are taking plaqe. It. was deeided t-o write a letter to the Town Board asking for an indication of the plan being fol;lowed for reticulation, and the order i in which places are connected, as on the face of it, it appears that reticulation has run riot and is entirely de- \ oid of logical explanation to the man in the street. The Association will be only too happy to meet th,e Town Board and the Boards" Engineer at anv convenient time in ordse* to have th(ese pressing matters elucidated. A general discussion then ensued and the meeting dispersed, with thanks to the Chairman and to Mr Pearsh for his hospitality.
