MAJESTIC THEATRE
At the Majestic tonight, Wednesday 20th., the main picture is fUp Front," starring Marina Berti, Tom Ewell and David Wayne, in an hilarious war comedy. Friday 22nd. is double feature night with "Family Secret," featuring . John Derek, Lee J. Cobb and Jody Lawrance, and "Too Dangerous To Love/' whose cast is headed by Ginger Rogers and Denis Morgan. Both pictures are pcwerful dramas of suspense and excitement. On Saturday the Majestic has a matinee at 2 p.m. in addition to the evening performance, at both of which Mario Lanza appears in the top-line Technicolor musical "The Great Oaruso," with Ann Blyth and a spectacular array of singing talent. Lanza is heard in twentythree selections, including arias from ten farnou s operas. The film is a spectacular and dramatic presentation of the romantic career of the great singer. This picture will be shown at Te Rangiita on Thursday, May 21st. On Monday next. May 18th., "The Great Caruso T will again be shown. On Tuesday 19th. Larry Parks and Barbara Haie star in "Emergency Wedding," a, swift-paced hilarious comedy of a couple who celebrated their courtship, engagement, marriage and quarrel in less time than it takes to fall in love at first sight. It is a remarkably happy film. The W ednesday programme (May 27th.) headlines "Apaehe Drums," a Technicolor drama of the days when "The Apaches are coming!" was the terror cry of the Old West, Stephen McNally and Coleen Gray are the stars in this stirring epie of daring adventure.
