BOWLING DAYS ARE OVER
Some Final Results The Taupo Bowiing Club's Veteran's Handicap final resulted in a win for the popular veteran Jack Peart, who defeated George Hill on the 21st head by two, the scores being 16-14. M r Peart has improved steadily1 over the past two seasons, and on several occasions has defeated more experienced players. Thcugh often well down on the board he has battled gamely on to finish in front. The final for the Swan Championship Pairs was won by Messrs Jack Bowlands and Doug Mills. The season's play has now been concluded and the indefatigable groundsman, Mr "Pop" Pennycook, has been engaged in forkIng the green. s In our report of the Gala Day wich tnarked the official closing day (Times May 6th) the team which won the Bxogressive Fours competition of that iday was given ineorrectly as includjng Mr H. Lough. The team comprised Mrs J. Stanley, skip, Ted Taylor, H. Watphouse, Tom Couper* Indoor Bowiing Plans With the winding up of outdoor jbowls until next spring the Committee has hopes of being able to organise indoor bowis, and the niatter x>f arranging for this as a v.inter ssubstitute for the outdoor game is BoW in hand. It is hoped to play in the Club pavilion.
