First Roimd At Taupo The first round for the Ewert Shield was played on Sunday, April | 19th, when the Putaruru team met the Taupo Golf Club's team on its home course. Taupo leads by 13 points to 12, the results being as follows: A. Graham and E. Smith, [2 wins; K. Rameka and P. Brown, 1 !win; K. Young and A. Smith, 1 half; L. Cheal and J. Miles, 3 wins; D. Neahie and E. Collett, 1 win and. 1 half; S. Neame and J. Woodvard, 3 wins; Miss Branson and Mrs HulI ten, 2 wins; Mrs Douglas and Miss | McKelvie, 3 losses ; Mrs Young and Mrs Ryan, 3 losses. The return match will be played at Putaruru in I October. X i On Thursday last the ladies played a Stableford, the best cairds being Mrs Douglas, 30 points; Mrs Ryan, 26 points; Mrs Barton and Mrs George, 24 points. Sunday next, May 3, will be an open day.
