HYDRO-ELECTRIC SCHEME

NOTIFYING POWER SHUT-DO WN S In his report to the Town Board Meeting last week Mr J. M. Sherwood, Electrical Inspector, recommended that with the increasing number of consumers consideration should be given to the qufestion of advertising the dates and times of poWer shut-downs. It would be necessary from time to time, during the construction period, to cut off the power, and he suggested that arangements niight possiblp be made with the Rotorua Broadcasting Station, 1YZ, to broadcast notices of such cut-offs. Following discussion the Board resolved to approach the 1YZ authorities so that broadcast notices could be made, and to advertise in the Taupo Times drawi ng- attention to such broadcasts.
