MAGISTRATES COURT
FIBHING AND TRAFFIC CASES A list of cases involving traffic offiences and breaches of trout fishing' and garae regulations was dealt with by Mr W. A. Harlow, S. M., in ihe Magistrates Court Taupo, ou Wedne^day last, March 20th. Conyictions were entered in the followmg cases, and fines imposed, with costs, as indicated. Fishing Oflfenees. ' ' Harry Broughan, charged that on , Decetmber 4th. at ihe Waitahanui Mouth he did take trout while fishing from a boat, was fined £1 10/-, with cogts £1. Charged' with taking trout at same place with other than an artificial fly defendant was fined £2, costs £1. Colin Paul Fowler, for fishing on January 6th. at Waitahanui from a boat contrary to the regulations, was fined £1 10/-, costs £1. Chhrged that on December 27th., at the mouth of the Kuratau Stream they did take trout while fishing from a boat, Henry Gilbert Horsley, David Bramwell Horsley and Robert Frederick Horsley were each fined £1 10/- costs £1. On a charge of taking trout at the Waitahanui River with other than an artificial fly Albert Judd wras fined £1 10/-, costs £1. On a charge of taking trout at the mouth of the Waitahanui while fishing from- a boat in a prohibited area the defendant was ordered to pay costs £1, Douglas Vinceht Ross, charged with fishing from a boat at Waitahanui contrary to the regulations, was ordered to pay costs £1. On a charge of taking a boat into a prohibited area while he and others were fishing for trout defendant was fined 10/-, costs £1. For taking trout on December 27th., at Kuratau Spit without a current fishing license, Ralph Ewert Wilkinsoni was fined £3, costs £1. Major Wall for taking or killing a native swan on. September 14th. at Waipahihi, (luring the closseason, was fined £3, costs £1. M.r E. McGregor, Consevator of Wild .Life, prosecuted in the foregoing Cases. Traffic Oifences. For driving a motor vehicle along Kaimanawa Road on. January 23rd. without due care and attention, Percey Augustus Mercer was fined" £5, costs £1, .and his drlver-si license was suspended for one month. lan Vigor Brown, for driving a motor vehicle' on December 2 5th. at a speed exceeding fifty miles per hour, was lined £3 10/-, costs £1. Jam.es Graham, Drummond for driving a motor vehicle at Motuopa. on January 9th. towing* a trailer at a speed exceeding 35 miles per hour, was fined £2, costs £1. On charges of driving motor vehicles at Waitahanui at speed s exceeding thirty miles per hour^ in a populated area, Thomas Arthur Horton was fined £2, costs £1; Edgar John Wall was fined £2, costs £1; and. Wiwi Piriri was fined! £1, costs £1. John Burgess Humphries, charged that at Waipahihi on January 4th. he did drive a nnotor vehicle in a marmer dangerous to the puhlic was fined £15, costs £1. W. A. Panapa was fined 10/-, costs £1, for driving a motor vehicle on December 18th., without a warrant of fitness. For faiiing to keep to the left hand side of the roadway at Taupo on December 12th. while' driving a motor vehicle, Lawrence Charles Purton was fined £4, costs •£i.
