GIFT FROM GUIDES The Girl Guides of New Zealand are preparing a gift book to be presented to Prince Gharles and Princess Anne, comprising both litemry and pictorial matter. Blaiik sheets bave been distributed to Guide e-oen,-panies throughout the country. and when these have been completed they will be bound into a hook. The Taupo Guide Company was asked to write the story of Hinemoa and Tutanekai, and this has now been doioe and the shcets despatched for inel'usion in tl^e gift book. The' lay-out was arrangel by Capt. Peart whiie Lieut. Snooks did the sciipt-writiiig of the story and Maadi Hough the illustrations, consisting of a drawing of Hinemoa, and of Mokoia IsiancL done froni material kindly supplied by JVir Howard Hili. The version of the story used was a shortened from of the legend a given in Sir George Grey's Polynesian Mythology.
