NEW SERVICE STATION A new serviee station was opened las:t week in Tangariro -Street, Taupo, by Buckleighs Motodrome Ltd., on ihe site cceupied for many years by Ihe Bungalow Private Hotei. The station is of copcrete canstruetion in modern style, ana will be run as a "cne brand'' station. The exterior is fini&hed in eream, picked out in red and yellow, these berng the sitandard coiours oi the Shell Oil organisaticn. Fronting the htfeet are the offiee and lubrieation bay, the latter wifh high elass doors and contaiing an hyara^iic ihoist and an autcmatie oil draining and dispensing unit fitted. with oveihead swing aim high pressure lubrieation The lubrieation bay is finished in ereain, eau-de-nil and rea, ana adjoining it is a waiting room where patrons may wait while cars are serviced. Two toilet rooms are provided, both with hot and cold running water, and ir the men's room a plug is provided for electric shaving. There is fluorescent lighting throughout. The exterior f Lood-ligihting of the building is as used in eommunity street lighting areas in Auckland City. The storage capacity of the new station provides for four thousand gallons of petrol and seven hundred gallons of diesel fuel. For car servicing there are two Shell arm pumps, and two commlercial pumps supply petrol ahd diesel fuel respeetively for trueks. A full stock of spares ahd aeeessories will be available, and all types of adjustments and light repairs will be carried •out. Mr A. J. Buckleigh advises that the business of Buckleighs Rental Cars Ltd., will operate from the new station.
