NEW ALL-ELECTRIC FACTORY
I ARNOLD CABINET SUPPLIES RUILD AGAIN l It is probable that those who saw the grim column of fire and smoke from the fiercely burning factory of Arnold Ca'binet Supplies Ltd„, Eletcher Street, on Monday morning, October 13th., did not foresee the modern factory that has risen in its place. It was noted by friends that within a matter of hours only after the fire "Bill" Arnold was hard at work clearing away the debris. In this direetion and others he was no doubt heartened and helped by practical sympathy, and confirmed in this determination to earry on. His hard work reached fruition on Thursday of last week when power from the Taupo Hydro-electric scheme set the wheels of the plant turning for the first time. , The new factory is a neat looking building with a floor-space of 1,475 square feet on which eight electricpowered machines have been set olit to best advantage. This plant comprises a Tanner band-saw, Hawkins Sander, Tanner Morticing machine, Dominion Spindle Moulder, Wilson Saw-bench, Herbert Buzzer, Eclipse Gun-saw and a Danckaert Thicknesser.' The Sander and the Gun-saw are both New Zealand made machines of fine quality. E'quipment has been selected to enable joinery work of all types to be made together with every sort of interior fittings. A convenient and attractive office has been provided, and racks for storage of timber are arranged under the building itself. This new project exemplifies the continuing progress of the town.
