TAUPO BUSINESSMEN'S ASSOCIATION

The 13th. Committee Meeting of the Taupo Businessmen's Association was held on Tuesday, January 13th. The main business of the evening was in connOction with the recent holiday period. Many people were put out with the closing on Monday but this was unavoidable due to the' laws of the day. Recomm en d ations, for next year are to be sought at tihe June Committee Meeting and placed before the quarterly general meeting in August. Second prize caane to the Association Float due to tihe good work of several mermbers of the Associa^ tion. Tihe Committee wishes to thank Mrs Acres and Mr R. W. Arnold, also S. H. Transport, for the vehicle, and every member who heiped. The ehildren's playing area has had the sapling and scrub removed we are now waiting for Messrs Sinclair and Yates to finish erecting a substantial swing and see-saw umit before" it is first used. * Mr W. J. Stevens gave a report on the recent Carnival and put forward a iproposition whereby separate foodies would each be resposible for 1 days entertainment at ensuing Carnivals. It was unanimously agreed that the Carnival was a success and is a "must" for the future. Further business inciuded eorrespondence with the Town Board concerning Building restrictions in the town area, and a report on the gratifying success of ihe new Camping Area.
