WAR FATALITY RATE FALLING

Lieutenant - Colonel Robert TI. Holmes of the U.S. Army Medicali Corps, reported to a recent Internat--ional Medical Congress that medical care of the wounded is at a high*. level. The fatality rate among United Nations troops wounded in* Korea is now the lowest in the history of warfare. The next moves toreduce war mortality will be the development of body armour and evem faster methods of getting professionai medical care to the wounded.. Much progress has already been made in design and production of body armour, Colonel Holmes said. The armour, a vest to proteet the ; chest and abdomen, weighs about six pounds, and is reported to have protective qualities superior to those of' the helment in current use.
